The design was inspired by a 19th century Slovenian wooden cart for dolls. The challenge presented to designers was that of taking a toy which is centuries old, giving it purpose again, making it appealing, useful, interesting design-wise, different and above all simple and elegant. The authors designed a modern portable baby crib for dolls. They came up with an organic shape, illustrating the softness of the relationship between a child and a baby toy. It is basically made from wood and textile. It can be used for sleeping, transport and storing dolls. This toy encourages social play.

Cwic

Cwic, was designed to be both a tree that you can personalize into every season and a wood toy to explain the life cycle. A big trunk of a tree designed in wood with magnets inserted here and there. The magnets are inside the trunk to support circles of different sizes and colors that represent the foliage of the tree in the different seasons. Reducing foliage to circles of different sizes and colors is one of the main design ideas. Bigger in spring and summer, white for winter, and orange for autumn. The other design achievement is the packaging a wooden flowerpot that holds all the pieces.

Green Science

As young minds learn and develop, 4M feel it is imperative that they become increasingly aware of important world issues, such as the environment. The Green Science series aims at teaching children to develop green habits at an early age and making learning about the environment in a fun way. To encourage awareness among children, each product contains interesting recycling tips and fun facts which can be applied in their daily lives and to arouse their curiosity to explore the environment.

Fanclastic

“Fanclastic” is an educational construction set designed for children and adults. It can be used as an educational toy as well as a building material for models. Each detail of the construction set has 3 connection methods: “level on level”, “front edge on level” and “front edge on front edge”. Such variety allows to build massive, tall, mobile, tridimensional, light objects and cubic lattice like models, which can be completed from any side. Bright colors and ribbed surface of the details attract attention, improve motor skills and stimulate brain work.
